Gifford Lane Art Stroll

This Sunday March 3, 2013 is the Gifford Lane Art Stroll at Coconut Grove. The festivities are from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Gifford Lane between Day and Oak. There will be food, drinks, family activities,  live music and will feature over 60 Artists.

A portion of the artist sales proceeds will be donated to: St. Alban’s Child Enrichment Center & St. Stephen’s AIDS Ministry.

50th Annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival® is the nation’s top outdoor fine arts festivals. The three-day festival showcases the works of over 360 of the finest artists and craftsmen in the world. A signature event of the South Florida cultural calendar, the Arts Festival is a true “Celebration of the Arts” offering visitors the opportunity to meet with exhibiting artists, sample fine cuisine, enjoy live entertainment and take in the tropical waterfront views of Coconut Grove.

In addition to the exquisite art & entertainment, festival attendees can also satisfy their appetites for gourmet cuisine in the popular Culinary Pavilion. This area of the festival invites nationally renowned chefs to prepare their famous specialty dishes. This year’s chefs will represent the hottest restaurants and hotels from South Florida, including popular local chef Giorgio Rapicavoli, founder of the pop-up restaurant Eating House, and winner of The Food Network’s “Chopped”. Chef Douglas Rodriguez of de Rodriguez Cuba, Chef John Richards of TUYO and the Short Chef™, among many others, will also be participating in this year’s festival.

Where

Nearly one mile of arts, food and fun, the Festival is held annually in the streets of Coconut Grove, Florida – a charming village within the city of Miami. The Festival is located just south of downtown Miami, adjacent to beautiful Biscayne Bay. It runs along the streets of McFarlane Road, South Bayshore Drive and Pan American Drive.

Gates open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m.

Admission

General admission is $10 per person per day.

Children 12 and under, Metrorail Golden Passport and Patriot Passport holders.

Offers a three-course menu featuring grilled octopus ceviche, heirloom tomato salad, pork filet and Angus NY steak. $125 per couple.

Clothing Drive for the families of Burkina Faso, Africa

On Saturday February 23 from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm Out of Africa Store in the heart of the beautiful Coconut Grove inside the Mayfair (2911 Grand Ave # 402, Coconut Grove, FL 33133), will be holding a clothing drive to collect as many shoes, socks, clothing, blankets, etc. to send to the village of Burkina Faso, Africa. There will be live music & drums, complimentary appetizers, store discounts & more. Admission is free with any Clothes/Shoes donation.

Miami offers plenty of frightening Halloween fun during the whole month of October. Find out what events are happening on and around Halloween in Miami, for both kids and adults.

HALLOWEEN FUN FOR KIDS

 

House of Horror Amusement Park
The largest haunted house in South Florida also features carnival rides, kiddie rides, carnival acts, and musical performances.

Little Farm Pumpkin Patch
Visit Little Farm in Homestead for a gorgeous pumpkin patch, pony rides, a petting farm, scarecrow kits and harvest decorations. Runs from early October through Halloween night.

Spooky Event at Gold Coast Railroad Museum
Trick-or-treating, train rides, and more on these special evenings at the train museum.

Not So Scary Halloween
Come to Miami Children’s Museum for some family fun. This event will feature a haunted house, trick or treating, crazed crafts and food.

Monster Splash Nighttime Bash at Miami Seaquarium
Several nights of Halloween themed animal shows, haunted houses, roaming skeletons, fireworks and more. Candy stations and other cool surprises will be set up around the park for trick-or-treaters in costume. Runs during the last days of October.

Howl-o-Ween at Pinecrest Gardens
A special Halloween for pets and their families, at Pinecrest Gardens. Includes a pet fair, flashlight tour, and family movie.

Halloween Spooktacular at Jungle Island
From trick-or-treating through the Jungle to themed animal shows, kids of all ages will enjoy a family friendly, fun-filled time. Everyone can enter the annual costume contest.

Howl-o-Ween at Fairchild
A special Halloween outing just for dogs (and their fans), at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

Family Halloween Party at Cocowalk
Trick-or-treating, costume contests, live entertainment and more at the CocoWalk Family Halloween Party.

Halloween on the Mile
Downtown Coral Gables invites kids of all ages to enjoy safe Halloween festivities. There will be scary story telling, safe trick-or-treating along Miracle Mile and adjacent streets, live entertainment, Halloween-themed photo booth and kiddie and doggie costume contests.
