Miami offers plenty of frightening Halloween fun during the whole month of October. Find out what events are happening on and around Halloween in Miami, for both kids and adults.

HALLOWEEN FUN FOR KIDS

 

House of Horror Amusement Park
The largest haunted house in South Florida also features carnival rides, kiddie rides, carnival acts, and musical performances.

Little Farm Pumpkin Patch
Visit Little Farm in Homestead for a gorgeous pumpkin patch, pony rides, a petting farm, scarecrow kits and harvest decorations. Runs from early October through Halloween night.

Spooky Event at Gold Coast Railroad Museum
Trick-or-treating, train rides, and more on these special evenings at the train museum.

Not So Scary Halloween
Come to Miami Children’s Museum for some family fun. This event will feature a haunted house, trick or treating, crazed crafts and food.

Monster Splash Nighttime Bash at Miami Seaquarium
Several nights of Halloween themed animal shows, haunted houses, roaming skeletons, fireworks and more. Candy stations and other cool surprises will be set up around the park for trick-or-treaters in costume. Runs during the last days of October.

Howl-o-Ween at Pinecrest Gardens
A special Halloween for pets and their families, at Pinecrest Gardens. Includes a pet fair, flashlight tour, and family movie.

Halloween Spooktacular at Jungle Island
From trick-or-treating through the Jungle to themed animal shows, kids of all ages will enjoy a family friendly, fun-filled time. Everyone can enter the annual costume contest.

Howl-o-Ween at Fairchild
A special Halloween outing just for dogs (and their fans), at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

Family Halloween Party at Cocowalk
Trick-or-treating, costume contests, live entertainment and more at the CocoWalk Family Halloween Party.

Halloween on the Mile
Downtown Coral Gables invites kids of all ages to enjoy safe Halloween festivities. There will be scary story telling, safe trick-or-treating along Miracle Mile and adjacent streets, live entertainment, Halloween-themed photo booth and kiddie and doggie costume contests.

Costumed adult monsters ages 21 and over are invited to go where the wild things are – at Zoo Miami. Party in the dark while enjoying premium cocktails at the open bars, savory treats, music, dancing, and entry into Dr. Wilde’s Creepy House.

Halloween Spookover
Stay overnight at Deering Estate for a spooky Nite Hike of the Tropical Hammock, ghost stories and performances, and join the League of Paranormal Investigators on a paranormal investigation of the houses and grounds.

Halloween Sundowner at Vizcaya
Celebrate this annual Halloween Sundowner at Vizcaya, a fundraiser to benefit Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Buy tickets early, as they may sell out.

Venetian Pool’s Annual Dog Swim!

Venetian Pool’s Annual “Paws in the Pool”

Sunday, October 7, 2012, 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.! 

It’s that time of the year again and the Venetian Pool has gone to the dogs! Bring man’s best friend for a day at the pool. The Venetian Pool will open its doors for two sessions to accommodate both small and large dogs. Please bring proof of current rabies vaccination and be prepared to clean up life’s little messes. Only those accompanied by a dog will be permitted to enter the facility. Tickets will be sold at the door; 200 dog maximum per session. 

Sessions & Times:

Session 1: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Small dogs only (0 through 30 lbs. dogs)

Session 2: 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Large dogs only (31 lbs. and up dogs) 

Cost: $5 per dog; $3 per human (Admission only granted to those accompanied by a dog)

SAVE THE DATE: Oct 24, 2012 The Haunted Jaunt

Save the date for the 1st annual The Haunted Jaunt, a Halloween-themed Haunted House/Street Party.

To be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm at Ponce Circle Park, Coral Gables, the “Jaunt” will feature a walk-through street fair experience in which each sponsor will have its own “haunted house” on the streets next to the Park.

Tickets are just $20 and include admission to the Haunts, a drink ticket, raffle ticket, and a coupon book. There will be a costume contest (costumes are not required, but encouraged) with prizes and multiple categories such as Best Couple, Scariest, Most Techy, etc. Vintage B&W horror movies will be shown on the lawn (also included). Drinks and food will be for sale in the park and the Jaunt will take place circling the adjacent block (see map). You can go through the Jaunt course as many times as you wish. Get a “Ghoulish Group” of 20 friends together and save 20% ($320 instead of $400 = $16 instead of $20).

Save the Date: Gables Bike Day

Save the Date for the 2nd annual Gables Bike Day, Sunday October 28, 2012 from 10am – 4pm.

Gables Bike Day is a family, cyclist, skater, pedestrian friendly event aimed at promoting healthy activities in Downtown Coral Gables. All proceeds will benefit Bike Walk Coral Gables, a non profit organization promoting transit use, bicycling, running and walking for daily transportation, leisure and fitness.  There will be activities such as the bike tours of Coral Gables, kids’ activities, live bands, bike polo, local restaurants and many of Miami’s bike shops. The entire route will be activated with plenty of stops for the entire family to enjoy.

Miracle Mile Eastbound lanes and Ponce De Leon will be closed for auto traffic.

Coral Gables Museum to Continue Artisan Food Fest

Due to the overwhelming success of the the first Artisan Food Fest, Coral Gables Museum will continue to have the fest the third Saturday of each month through the end of the year.

Vendors will sell an array of handcrafted items from granola to jams to sustainably grown greens to sausages and everything in between and of  course there will be lots of delicous samples.

The fest is free and open to the public from 10am – 4pm in the community meeting room at the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Argon Ave.

Future fests will be held on September 15, October 20, November 17 & December 15.
