The Grove at Grand Bay Development Update

April 9th, 2012 Written By Carol Pawley

I just received more details about the exciting new development happening in the Grove on the site of former 5-Star luxury hotel, Grand Bay. I wrote a blog about the much anticipated luxury condo building after the Miami Herald announced it in the Friday paper on March 23, 2012 (see it here). This morning the sales office emailed me a detail sheet and drafted pictures of the building and view – they’re attached below. Although, the developer isn’t releasing pricing details, they have disclosed that the average price per square foot is around $850. Judging by the photos, this luxury condo will be unlike anything Coconut Grove has ever seen – as promised. Complete floor to ceiling windows with no outside wall coverings, an unobstructed view and a twisted architectural style will be one of the many details making The Grove at Grand Bay one of a kind.

Midtown 2 is Now Selling!

April 4th, 2012 Written By Carol Pawley

The new Midtown 2 condo development officially began selling on March 14th. Developed by Fortune Realty,  only  61 aggressively priced units are on the market and they plan to be inventory free within weeks. Strategically located near Miami’s trend setting Design District with top designer boutiques, the Midtown neighborhood is quickly exploding. At current prices the Midtown 2 and neighboring condos are sound investments based on projected value over the next few years. Since the beginning of its development, the area has only seen increasing value in part due to its popularity, artsy vibe and local business. With designers such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Christian Dior, Fendi, and Bulgari opening shop, Midtown and the Design District are poised to become Miami’s version of New York’s SoHo and Meat Packing District.

Coconut Grove Playhouse Public Call to Action

April 2nd, 2012 Written By Carol Pawley

Village of Center Grove Neighborhood Association is calling all Grove residents to speak up and show support in honor of the Coconut Grove Playhouse. The event is scheduled to take place tonight at 6:30 pm.

“Among politicians who will be invited to the Give It Back April 2 gathering will be Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, County Commissioner Xavier Suarez, Miami Mayor Thomas Regalado, City Commissioner Marc Sarnoff, and State Representative Carlos Lopez-Cantera.
The Playhouse Board of Directors was freely given and accepted official ownership and responsibility for the Coconut Grove Playhouse in 2004 by the State of Florida.   There was only one condition required in return for the gift by the State: The Playhouse Board of Directors must continue to present live theater in the revered landmark or they would lose ownership. With an estimated operating deficit of 4.3 million dollars, the Board closed the Playhouse on May 12, 2006 and it has remained closed and crumbling for six dark years since then.”

What: Give it Back! Event

When:  April 2, 2012 from 5:30-6:30 pm
